About RUH
Our aim is to provide real hair wigs, completely free of charge to Balinese women and children who are suffering from the devastating effects of hair loss due to cancer treatment. Because it is real hair, the wig can be cut, curled, or straightened to suit a person’s authentic style.
Rambut untuk Harapan, RUH, is a non-profit organization started by Kyan Zabriskie, a Green School student in Bali, Indonesia. As part of an eighth grade Quest passion project in 2019, Hair for Hope, was created. Living in Bali since she was one year old, Kyan thought this was a beautiful way to give back for all the blessings Bali has given her and her family over the years.
We work with Sanglah Hospital and Yayasan Peduli Anak Kanker Bali to find recipients for our wigs. RUH is fortunate enough to partner with P. T. Sari Rambut, Atelier Bassi, in Bangli, who graciously provides the wig making at cost.
Rambut untuk Harapan, RUH, relies on hair donations through hair-cutting events, partnering hair salons and individual supporters from across Indonesia.
We believe in being a resource for all families facing this big challenge. We have designed our organization to cause no extra stress to the recipient. Families are already undertaking huge financial strain during this time and it is our goal to provide a sense of comfort while they fight their illness.

How You Can Help

If you want to donate hair, please keep in mind the following before you send your hair:
All hair must be clean, dry and in good condition (please do not send us wet hair, it will not dry properly and is not usable).
We accept a minimum of 34cm.
We accept ponytails cut a maximum of 5 years ago if preserved in good condition.
We do not accept colored hair.
We accept hair from all over Indonesia, even from abroad. Please make sure to send your hair to the address below.
VERY IMPORTANT: Hair should be divided into four sections; each tied with a band. Please cut above hair just above the hairbands.

If you are a cancer patient or you have a family member going through cancer treatment, please fill out the application form and we will get in touch with you.

For now we are only donating wigs for cancer patients in Bali. Hopefully in the future we can also donate wigs to cancer patients in the rest of Indonesia.
